Step 1: Download and install the software

 There are four different versions of the K-Lite Pack codec. From an absolutely small packet that contains the most important individual decoders, to a large and large packet. Typically, differences between variants can evolve globally, see below. Detailed differences can be found on capacity comparison pages and pages.
These codec packs are compatible with Windows running Vista / 7/8 / 8.1 / 10. Older versions are also compatible with XP.
Packages contain both 32-bit and only 64-bit codecs, so they work effectively on x86 and x64 under different Windows!

- ACM / VFW codecs like x264VFW combined with Lagarith – this type of codec should be used by some form and video editing / encoding applications for working with AVI files. For example VirtualDub.
These codecs are not used or required for video playback.
Important Note: The K-Lite Codec Pack does not extend the import rights of professional video editors such as Vegas Movie Studio or Adobe Premiere. These applications often support publishing only a small set of layout files and support the use of some codecs, which are even better in the codec pack (DirectShow / VFW), not just. Modern publishers often only use their own internal codecs or only support external codecs like Media Foundation.

Important Note: Any additional features included in Mega are considered useful only for a small group of friends. It does not require any additional music or video format playback functionality. If you are clearly interested in reading only, the full version will be enough for your time.
